Hello, You FMC #127, CQC #232

I am participating in colourQ challenge #232, which includes newsprint.  I have not used it before so I was kinda giddy about it.  Really silly, I know.  If you happen to read the text you may notice that it's straight from my drug book that I used when I was in nursing school.  I decided to keep that book not for the information but because it has onion skin paper.  I got it a bit crooked, sorry about that.  But not too bad for my first try.  I cut some watercolor paper in the banner shape and used Martha Stewart permanent glue, used my fingers to make a thin layer of glue before applying the newsprint. I trimmed the newsprint the exact size of the banner.  I knew that the watercolor paper would absorb the liquid of the glue.  It worked like a charm.  I put it between a couple of books to keep it from warping.

The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches #127.  I love this challenge for the easy to duplicate sketches and the team makes such beautiful samples.

I am trying to list all my supplies, but I have tons of stash that I haven't a clue where it came from, namely the cardstocks.  The rhinestones were a free gift from Simon Says Stamps because something I ordered is currently out of stock.  And of course, I can't find it on their website.

  1. This is so cool...especially that you repurposed one of your own books for the newsprint! Love the chevron, too! Thanks for playing with the ColourQ challenge colors this week!

  2. Very cute! Love the stenciled chevrons, and I love the pretty green with all of the neutral colors. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!

  3. Love so many part of your card--the embossing paste, the fact that you kept your books like I did for crafting use and the dimensional 'you'. Fantastic and thank you so much for joining us this week at the colourQ!

  4. So much fun! Love that pop of green and what a great job with the newsprint. Glad you joined us this week at FMS!
