365 Cards and Mojo Monday

I had some more time on my hands....hehe, so I decided to make another card.  This time it's for two challenges.

First I found this challenge, 365 Cards.  It sounded easy, but time was of the essence.  The challenge is to make the card in 20 minutes.  To my advantage, I had all these papers and embellishments out in the open.  The most time consuming thing was cutting all these papers. The butterfly is on acetate that I got in a kit a couple years ago.  The sentiment is from Stamps of Life.

Using this sketch from Mojo Monday # 229 was really the challenge.

This is the 45th cards I've made this year.  Once again, I didn't buy anything new to make this card.  I was surprised to find the piece of jute in my stash to use.  Continuing to deplete my stash.

A La Card Monkey Guest Designer (Again)

I absolutely love the challenges each week with A La Card Monkey.  I've mentioned this before, so I am not just saying it because I am one of the Guest Designers this week on her blog.

A nice thing about this week's challenge is that it doesn't have a theme, but a great looking sketch.

I wanted to find out just how many cards I've made since the beginning of the year.  You know, when I implemented by goal of the year to not purchase any consumable items for my cards.  My total as of today is 44.  That's alot of cards in less than two months!  Of these cards, I didn't purchase any card stock or embellishments.  I am depleting my stash.  I encourage you to join me in depleting your stash too.

Thanks for looking!

I haven't just stamped on a card without any additional layers in a very long time.  Brings me back to when I first started stamping up cards 18 years ago.  I even used the card stock I used back then, plain old glossy.  It definitely makes the stamp color sharper.  Unfortunately it glares when I take a pic.  Sorry about that!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #133

This is my first time to participate in this challenge.  And I was willing to take this challenge on. It's been a while since I've made a card and matching bookmark, or is it a gift card?  Tuesday Morning Sketches #133 added a little twist to the sketch, which I completely forgot about as I was designing the card. It was to have 2 ribbons, 1 embellishment and 4 layers.

The layers are dies that I cut from my new Big Shot.  The embellishments is the diecut sticker flowers on both pieces.  The ribbon on the card had adhesive on the back which made it super easy to pleat.  The sentiment are alpha tiles from Doodlebug Design. I had to add some little bling of three tiny rhinestones.

I am thrilled to be able to use up quite a bit of my stash, which is my goal.  Continuing to deplete my stash...yea me!
