Masculine Watercolor

Last weekend I purchased a inexpensive palette of watercolors.  I used watercolor paper and put the manliest look colors I had and it still looked too girly.  So, I did a black wash on those colors, reapplied the original colors and got this.  I rather like how it turned out.  The black stars are stamps and white and hand drawn with a gel pen.  I thought it would have been too much trouble embossing and risk making a mess since they were an after thought after gluing down the sentiment.

I was inspired by a card by Lisa Kind at TIME OUT challenged #3.  Their theme is Birthday with a twist of masculine.  I am also entering this into Just Us Girls 236, with the technique being the focus this month, Watercolor Backgrounds.

Thank you for stopping by!     Traci
