Cupcake with A La Card Monkey Challenge

I enjoy participating in challenges that A La Card Monkey has.  I love their themes and their sketches.  When I saw this week that the theme was cupcakes, well, I was disappointed.  I don't have one thing that is cupcake.  I don't own any stamps with cupcakes.  I was tempted to get a free digistamp, but that would mean I would have to color it in.  Yikes!  Another dilemma. 

I wanted to stay true to my commitment to not purchase anything for these challenges.  What was a girl to do?  Then it dawned on me, as my daughter was looking through her old scrapbooks yesterday.  I saw all those paper piecing images I hand drew that were on page after page.  My stars!  Why didn't I think about paper piecing a cupcake?  So....I did.

I embellished the frosting with this glitter paint and pearls that I won from A La Card Monkey a few weeks ago.  The color inspiration is from CR84FN.

    Girl I am so proud of you!! I love the card and what a perfect idea!! Plus no new stuff, I am really trying hard to do the same... I have cut back on buying. Maybe I will challenge my self one month at a time.... Here sometime soon!! lol Thanks for joining us at A La Card Monkey this week!!
