Birthday Fusion #6

Happiness arrived on Saturday.  I had ordered this Happy Birthday die when it was released and was on back order.  Happy dance was done at my mailbox as I saw that precious little envelope.  And just in time.  I wanted to use it to make a card for one of my patients that is having a birthday this week.  Before I pop it in the mail, I took a quick pic to enter it into Fusion Card Challenge #6.

Another Nautical Card

 What fun!  Another nautical challenge.  It's with Friday Mashup 152.  The Mashup is to combine a one layer card with a nautical theme, which I have accomplished.  It took a few attempts to get the watercolor the way I wanted.  The bottom I used three colors of distressed inks.  I heat embossed the waves with clear embossing powder with glitter. The boat and sun I used watercolor pencils, followed by Wink of Stella.  It was hard to photograph the glitter.  I did manage to get at least one pic that represents it.  With all this glitter, I am participating in the Simon Says Stamps Glitter It challenge.

Three Anchors

Spring is here!  Last weekend, it got rather warm, 95 degrees! And the next morning we had a small earthquake.  I've heard this time is year is called Earthquake Season.  Really?

I really like the nautical look.  I am playing this week with Clean&Simple 285 sketch inspiration.  I am also applying this with the challenge in Less is More 164.  They require the entry have three of something and to comment on three other participants.  I agree with them, it's always nice to receive comments.  I try to leave comments frequently and visit new blogs.

SWEET!

I think this is the most CAS I have ever created.  So many of my favorite CAS artists creates such wonders.  I pulled out my older Stamps of Life stamps (pops2eat) which is full of  popsicles and cute sentiments.  I am sure I will be using this set more come this summer.

I am participating in the Colour Me...Subtle! I love this color combination.  I really the hand drawn lines that separate the blue and green cs.

Happy Birthday FMC #128

I finally decided to get my SLR camera out to take pics of my cards and not my cell phone.  I was waiting for my daughter to send me back my memory card that she borrowed in November.  I know, I know I could have purchased another one....true, so true.  Now all things are right in our worlds and I have my memory card back.

I don't know if anyone else has anxiety/excitement over all the challenges that are out there.  How do YOU choose which ones?  I like to look for a color challenge, a sketch challenge and a theme challenge for one card.  Just this week, I wrote down the due dates of the challenges I enjoy the most.  Any advice?

As for this card, I was way too impatient to find a color challenge.  I feel you can never go wrong with green :)  Freshly Made Sketches #128 has wonderful clean and simple sketches every week.  This is my go-to challenge every week.  Seize the Birthday Toppings is Stitches.
